Welcome ladies and gentlemen to Friday Night Smackdown! We are on the road to Halloween Havoc and we have no intention of following the speed limit! This week we have some amazing matches for you here tonight. You will see your favorite wCw superstars go head to head in exciting and unpredictable entertainment that only wCw can bring you. Without further ado, here is the lineup for tonight’s show.
Segment One: Making a Statement. In segment one of the show this evening you will see two matches featuring our youngest and newest talent on the roster. While some are making bigger splashes than others, no one can deny the huge amounts of potential inside these four men.
Match 1 Heath Slater Vs. Zack Ryder 1 on 1 Normal Match Talk about polar opposites! On one end you have The One Man Southern Rock Band, Heath Slater who is in a foul mood after being defeated by Daniel Bryan last week on Smackdown. On the other end you have Zack Ryder, who has brought his Woo! Woo! Woo! spirit into wCw with the first episode of his Internet show The Z! True Long Island Story. Twitter wars between the two men have been going on for days, but in wCw there is only one way to settle things. An even match up makes for an exciting first match here on the program tonight.
Match 2 Ted Dibiase vs. Kofi Kingston 1 on 1 Normal Match Ted Dibiase got the attention of both the superstars and the wCw universe with his promo earlier this week. He stated that he no longer cares about what his fans want and will only focus on what HE needs to do in order to get a title around his waist. He told the wCw universe to get used to seeing his face around here, but will that even be possible if his face is kicked in by Kofi Kingston? Kingston has yet to say a word to the wCw universe but has made his presence known throughout this past month. It is good versus evil in this matchup and you won’t want to miss what happens.
Segment Two: Fan Favorites. Dream matches. We all have them and tonight you will get to see them. These two matches contain four incredibly popular superstars here in wCw and tonight we will get to see them go head to head.
Match 3 Mick Foley vs. Robert Roode 1 on 1 Tables Match Mick Foley has become a staple of wCw. He performs great matches every week and has the biggest tolerance for pain in the business. After a 5 star match against Edge on Raw, he goes against Robert Roode. Roode’s relationship with the United States Championship is like the claw machine game at the local arcade. No matter how many times he tries to get closer to the title, his #1 contender’s status slips away forcing him to insert more quarters. With momentum on one side and frustration on the other, a tables match is the only way this high caliber match could possibly go down.
Match 4 Edge vs. Shawn Michaels 1 on 1 Normal Match Edge’s “Fear the Spear!” campaign hasn’t been going exactly the way Edge probably hoped it would. Dude Love and Heath Slater have been victims of the spear, but Edge failed to capitalize on The Undertaker weeks ago and the fatal four-way match after that. Edge is not in any title picture currently and he looks to change that. That is why he asked to go against a big name superstar. He gets his wish tonight as he goes one on one with Shawn Michaels. HBK made a huge statement by beating Daniel Bryan last week. While we have yet to hear from Mr. Wrestlemania, we know that his mind and his heart are focused on becoming a champion and he looks forward at another chance to prove himself this week against The Rated R Superstar.
Segment Three: Enemies United
Match 5 Daniel Bryan vs. Rob Van Dam 1 on 1 Normal Match While Daniel “The Buzzkill” Bryan has been very busy ruining Team Funk’s party and Heath Slater’s first win celebration, RVD has crept up in the ranks and scored a United States title match against Chris Jericho. Bryan will have to set his hobby of “crushing spirits in the name of wrestling” behind if he wants to remain the #1 contender for Jericho’s title. These two go one on one for the first time tonight on Smackdown!
Match 6 CM Punk vs. The Undertaker 1 on 1 Normal Match The wCw title picture has everyone on their toes. Just last week on Smackdown, Randall Keith Orton cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase on The Undertaker to become the new wCw champion. Just prior to that, Randy Orton was in a vicious rivalry with CM Punk who believes that he isn’t getting the respect he deserves from Orton. This puts Randy Orton in a tough situation as he has two rabid dogs nipping at his heels. Tonight we see the two dogs fight each other as The Undertaker goes one on one with CM Punk. Although they share a mutual hatred for Randy Orton, neither man will be able to touch Orton without going through the other first.
Segment Four: It Take Three to Tango The wCw tag team championship scene is a total mess. You have The Connection, the #1 contenders for the titles who believe that they deserve their championship match now and not later. You have Awesome Game who believes that they were cheated during their #1 contender’s match and demand another one. Lastly, you have the wCw tag team champions Harlem Twist, who could care less about who they fight and have been spending their time in singles matches with the other competition in wCw while the other two teams settle their differences. Tonight Mr. McMahon had the idea of splitting the teams up and putting them on their own to fend for themselves in Triple Threat Matches. What effect will these matches have on the overall Tag Team Title scenario? The wCw universe is dying to find out.
Match 7 The Miz vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Brock Lesnar Triple Threat Match (Normal)
Match 8 Triple H vs. Booker T vs. The Rock Triple Threat Match (Normal)
Main Event
Match 9 Randy Orton Vs. Chris Jericho Champion vs. Champion Normal Match With all eyes on Randy Orton’s huge wCw Championship title win last week, people tend to forget that Orton also holds the wCw Intercontinental Championship. The number one contender for that title happens to be the United States Champion Chris Jericho and there is nothing Y2J’s ego would love more then to have two have two titles around his waist. While Orton would love to put his focus on the Undertaker or CM Punk, as a champion you have the responsibility to fight all comers and this match, while a non-title fight, is a perfect reminder of that. This match is expected to be nothing less than fantastic as both superstars have proven to be great champions.
That’s all for tonight ladies and gentlemen. I hope you enjoy the show and tune in next week as we make our way to Halloween Havoc.
