DANIEL BRYAN - Dragon in Flight (pt1) Dif_title
A single bead of sweat drips slowly from the far edge of his brow, crashing down to the cold concrete floor of the arena while slow rhythmic breathes help him focus all of his energy to his center mass. Calming as it may be, the excitement is almost too much to bare for our protagonist. He leans his back to wall, just under an exit sign in a corner of the building where there isn't any of the usual commotion.

The locker rooms too full of the boys preparing to compete in the following matches closing out the night, along with the spent competitors packing up and getting ready to move on to the next stop. He's enjoying this moment. Basking in the solace, making this the point to reflect on whats gotten him here and what happens next.

"There's no holding me back." He thinks to himself, confident as ever knowing that three unanswered points on the board do all the talking.

Fresh off his victory against Vampiro, he rests in the belief he's bested him in competition. The submission match was a grueling contest with lots of high intensity moves and back and fourth grappling, no different than any other of Daniel Bryan's matches. But during this match in particular, there were several points where the match could have gone either way and when Vampiro hit a second Spiked Coffin while reversing Bryan's patented Triple German Suplex, the outcome looked grim. As if all of his momentum and everything he had been working for since arriving back to WCW was slipping away.

He dug deep. His training had taught him better than to give up and roll over. With a sharp stinging pain in his neck he got back up and delivered a massive flying knee over the ropes and out onto the floor connecting to Vampiros sternum in a way that could only be compared to a car crash. He used that momentum to get Vampiro into a massive triple German Suplex on the outside of the ring and his onslaught didn't stop there.

Back in the ring he reversed an Irish Whip into the corner and unleashed another combination of moves ending in another Triple German Suplex, but this time Vampiro had the answer, and completely halted Bryan with a surprise Spiked Coffin and at that point all hope was lost.

So much damage had been done to Bryan he could barely move, with arms and legs both completely numb he was dead in the water and just when the crowd and the announce team were saying it was over, with one final push and a lucky reversal Bryan gained the upper hand and secured the Labell Lock and broke Vampiros will.

The psychological torture Vampiro had endured over the past few weeks from the masked men has reached the breaking point. Vampiro can't hold it together, and while Bryan's intentions in the grand scheme of things hadn't been brought to the surface many wonder when the silence would be broken.

Perhaps Bryan has nothing to say? Stepping back into the public light of the company he promised complete in ring domination of the competition. Perhaps Vampiro was seen as a threat? A proving ground?

Maybe there's something more sinister under the surface.

War was on the horizon in WCW, with a long line in the sand being drawn by D-Evolution-X causing many superstars to stand against their rise to power and success. Bryan has no personal ties to the rivarly, has no stake in who will come out on top, and won't be affected by who wins...

His alliance with Cody was a strageic one, they're two of the most refined workers in the business with a strong will to survive and overcome the odds no matter the circumstances and grabbed the number one contenders slot for the tag team championships immediately following wins at Wrestlemania. Regardless of their success as a tag team, both men are hungry for the WCW Championship and won't let anyone, including eachother, stand in the way of climbing the ranks.

Bryan's head is full of thoughts, and all of them are on competition. Backlash was quickly approaching
and it was time to focus and train.
